Electronic waste is one of our nations, and the worlds most pressing issues. The inside of my laptop that I am typing on right now is filled with all sorts of horrible materials that can cause immense harm if not disposed of correctly, I’d like to hope that when the time comes to get rid of this machine that it will be handled appropriately by those I entrust with it, and not inappropriately just to make a buck.

UPDATE: I got this message from @sowhatcanido on twitter.

“Choose socially-responsible e-cyclers (e-waste recyclers). Here’s how: http://tinyurl.com/5py8zq

In this message, they link you to The E-Stewards Initiative, which maintains a list of responsible e-cyclers, keep them in mind the next time you need to get rid of some of your old electronic goods.

I get it, a hybrid may not suit your needs and desires, I would rather you got one for some very obvious reasons, but if one can not fulfill all of your wishes I do understand.

On the other hand, what I don’t understand is really rather simple, why must you drink so much water, and I don’t mean that how it sounds. The fact that certain parts of the world lack clean water is not my point, rather my point is that you insist on using plastic bottles to hold the water.

It might strike you as being a very small detail but those bottles also require oil to be produced. It also requires a significant amount of oil to get the bottle from the manufacturer to the business who does the actual bottling of the water, then another tank of gas to get it to the store and once again to get it home. A reusable bottle for your water is a minor detail I know, but the time, energy and natural resources it saves is a rather large one.

So if you can’t narrow your carbon foot print with a hybrid could you please narrow it via a reusable water bottle?

Thanks.
